THEME 1 SCHOOL LIFE - DIGITAL STORY 

THE SCRIPT 

Scene 1

Headmistress: Welcome, everyone! I am very excited to see so many new faces at our school this year. We are ready to help our new students. My name is Ms Aslan and I am the headmistress. I am in charge of the school. 
Today is the first day of the new term. We are here to welcome and guide you. This is Mr Carter. He is a headteacher and also your 
English teacher. You will meet your teachers in class. This year, we have sixty students in year 5. Let me introduce the school to you. We are in the school garden now. You can play basketball, football, and volleyball here. This man over there is Mr Yapıcı. He is our caretaker. He takes care of the school building. The woman next to him is Ms Pak. 
She is the cleaner. She cleans the whole school. You must use the toilets carefully. 
Please, throw your rubbish in the rubbish bin. 
Don’t leave your classrooms dirty. 

Students: Yes, Ma’am.
Headmistress: Now, it is time to enter the school building. Walk in the corridor slowly, please.

Scene 2

Headmistress: Mr Carter will guide you around school today. Follow his instructions and stand in line.

Mr Carter: Hello, boys and girls. Are you ready to see your school? You can ask questions and take notes. Don’t forget to raise your hand before you speak. 

Students: OK, Sir. 

Student 1: Who is she, Mr Carter?

Mr Carter: She is the school nurse. She takes care of our health and gives us medical advice.

Nurse Buse: Hey, kids. I am Nurse Buse 
Keskin. I take care of students’ health in this school. Feel free to come and visit me. 

Students: Thank you, Miss Keskin. 

Mr Demir: Welcome children. I am Mr Demir.
Student 2: Can I ask a question? 

Mr Demir: Sure.

Student 2: What do you do, Mr Demir?

Mr Demir: I am the librarian and this is our school library. You can borrow books here. 
You can also help me organise the books. You mustn’t shout in the library. We don’t make noise here. 

Mr Carter: One more thing…Don’t run in the corridor.

Students: OK, Sir. 

Scene 3

Mr Carter: Let’s go and see the canteen. 

Student 3: When can we come here, Mr Carter? 

Mr Carter: You can eat here during the breaks but you cannot bring food or drink into the classroom. 

Student 1: Can we see our classroom, Mr Carter?

Mr Carter: Of course. It’s upstairs. Follow me. 
Look at the noticeboards, kids. We decorate them to celebrate and announce the national days. Do you know these important days? 

Student 3: Yes. 29 October Republic Day, 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, 30 August Victory Day, and…
Student 4: 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day and 15th July Democracy and National Unity Day. 

Mr Carter: Well done, kids! We celebrate these national days with joy and pride.Do your best to show your respect and love to our country!

Students: Sure, Mr Carter!

Student 1: We are proud to be the children of a strong and free nation.

Mr Carter: That’s it!

Scene 4

Mr Carter: Now, I need to talk about some other rules. Please, arrive at school on time every day. Always check your timetable and study for your exams. Don’t forget to bring your materials. Always try to do your tasks in class. Follow your teachers’ instructions. 
Speak kindly to your teachers and friends. 
Don’t bully your classmates. Always help and support them. Participate in the activities and enjoy your learning. Please don’t forget to follow all safety instructions. 

Students: Thank you, Sir!
